Invest in Poland – a Land of Opportunity and Preferential Conditions.
For over two decades, Poland has steadily strengthened its position as an attractive destination for capital investment. A key driver of this success has been the network of Special Economic Zones (SEZ). In response to evolving market dynamics and business needs, a new Act on the Support for New Investments, passed on May 10, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 74, as amended), modernized the framework for tax incentives in Poland.
The updated regulations allow for income tax exemptions (CIT or PIT) throughout the entire country—applicable to both public and private land—excluding areas with mineral deposits (unless the investment concerns those resources). Importantly, previously granted permits for conducting business in SEZs remain valid until the end of 2026. Additionally, the amendment of July 31, 2019, extended support to areas with untapped mineral deposits, significantly broadening the range of eligible locations for investors. The latest amendment, effective as of January 1, 2022, reflects changes to the regional aid map, further aligning the support system with the country’s current economic strategy and investor expectations.

Industrial and Technology Parks in Poland – Hubs of Innovation and Growth.
Industrial and technology parks play a vital role in Poland’s innovation ecosystem. These dedicated zones bring together businesses from specific sectors along with research and academic institutions, enabling dynamic growth, knowledge exchange, and technological advancement. Increasingly popular across the country, these parks offer tailored support services to both domestic and international entrepreneurs seeking a fertile environment for development and innovation.
Technology Parks – Bridging Science and Business.
A technology park is a designated area with dedicated infrastructure established to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology between research institutions and the business sector. Designed to foster innovation, these parks support companies operating in high-tech industries by providing:
Consulting services for business creation and development
Access to technology transfer opportunities
Commercialization of scientific research and R&D outcomes
A business-friendly environment tailored to support innovation-driven enterprises
The first technology park in Poland, the Poznań Science and Technology Park, was established in May 1995. The development and coordination of such parks are supported by the Association of Organisers of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centres in Poland (SOOIPP), headquartered in Poznań (www.sooipp.org.pl/en).
Industrial-Technology Parks – Revitalizing Potential, Stimulating Enterprise.
Industrial-technology parks are formed from restructured or repurposed industrial properties, often on sites of former manufacturing enterprises, and are frequently developed in collaboration with local government authorities. Their primary mission is to provide preferential conditions for economic activity, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
These parks aim to:
- Attract market-effective companies employing advanced technologies
- Encourage domestic and foreign investment
- Generate new employment opportunities
While both industrial and technology parks share similar missions, objectives, and organizational frameworks, each initiative is shaped by its unique regional, social, cultural, and economic context. There is no one-size-fits-all model. Instead, each park reflects the local scientific and business environment, economic structure, and entrepreneurial culture of its region.
These parks are not just facilities—they are engines of regional development, innovation, and competitiveness. For investors seeking a dynamic and supportive location for technologically advanced ventures, Poland’s network of parks offers a compelling value proposition.
